Discover Our Earth is go

The Longest Assisted Motorcycle Expedition in the World is go! Currently this title belongs to the Original Trans Americas run by GlobeBusters in 2005, 2007, 2009 and again in 2011. However by the time riders depart Anchorage in July 2011 this title will have passed to Discover our Earth. This 8 month, 5 continent, 40,000 mile Round the World Adventure will leave Austria in November 2010.

The expedition is a celebration of Edelweiss Tours 30th Anniversary. The founder of Edelweiss, Werner Wachter, wanted to celebrate this milestone by offering a special and unique expedition. Recognising that this sort of ride is very different to the core of Edelweiss tours he knew he needed to engage the help of the world’s leading motorcycle expedition company.

He asked Double Guinness World Record holders and founders of GlobeBusters Kevin and Julia Sanders to design, plan and run the expedition with Edelweiss.

“We are delighted to be the force behind Discover Our Earth and to be working with Werner and his excellent team in Austria” says Kevin.

Discover Our Earth will leave Mieming in Austria an cross into Africa for the first 5 weeks of the trip. From there it is onto Buenos Aires and a ride to the most southerly road in the world. Form Ushuaia we turn north through South and Latin America all the way to Los Angeles. Leaving the Americas we head for Beijing but not before stopping off to ride across Australia. From Beijing its back to Europe via China and Russia and then home.

The five sections of Discover Our Earth are also available as separate trips. For more details download the information pack below or email Kevin at info@globebusters.com
