Silk Road Riders Arrive in Beijing

London to Beijing team, the highest motorcycling group in the world!

The GlobeBusters Team have ridden 10,000 miles from London to get to Everest Base Camp across some of the most remote and treacherous terrain on the planet. It’s been a challenging trip – the bad weather in Tajikistan led to the collapse of two roads on the planned route and the revolution in Kyrgyzstan meant they could not reach the Torugart Pass to China. However, working closely with our Chinese partners, we managed to re-route the Team across the Irkeshtam Pass and they arrived in Kashgar (China) ahead of schedule, for a little taste of BBQ camel.

From there they battled through the mega cities of western China and rolled into Beijing on time on 2nd July.  Exhausted but excited the riders and one pillion could not believe they had completed the toughest ride on the planet.  Collapsed roads, revolution, weeks above 5000m altitude; "Don't let anyone tell you there is a tougher rider than this" said expedition leader Kevin Sanders.

Wondering what the road is like to Everest Base Camp or what BBQ camel tastes like?  Why not sign on for Silk Road East 2011?  There are just a few places left.
